Finimize Community Meetups
Getting your head around financial concepts is not dissimilar from learning a new language. Female Financial Dialogue: San Francisco & New Delhi
The Female Financial Dialogue is a series of events run by the Finimize Community each year to recognise successful women around the world and encourage an open dialogue about finance, investing and careers. This week we kicked off with the first two in New Delhi and San Francisco. The series will culminate in a large scale event at Finimize HQ where we launch the 2019 report (see 2018’s FFD report here).

“For the first Finimize Female Financial Dialogue event in New Delhi, the idea was to create financial awareness amongst women. In India today women are more dependent on advisors and their male counterparts to handle finances, it’s crucial we create a forward thinking community who are able to handle their own money.We invited a panel of 2 speakers who broke down the products available in the market and explained the risk factors associated with investing in different commodities. The event took place at FIO a cocktail bar in Delhi and we had a very eager crowd present who wanted to learn, evolve and grow. We wanted everyone to go home with some tips on how to create wealth and we surely managed to convince many to start investing after this event!”

The conversation in San Francisco was held in a beautiful, but secret, location in the heart of the city. The venue set the scene for the open and honest conversation about challenges women face with career progression. 65% of the women surveyed at the event cited relationships (whether built at work, networking or personal connections) as the number one reason for their success whilst still recognising that mentorship was hard to come by. The speakers were asked to give practical advice for men and women that want to see more women in leadership.

Meanwhile in Hong Kong… The crowd flocked to hear experts from PineBridge Investments and Bloomberg disentangle key macro and micro trends that affect policies and pocketbooks. Due to overcapacity Finimizers were watching through the window from outside the venue!
