The Future of Canadian Fintech: Toronto, Canada
The future of Canadian fintech has never been more promising, with 600+ fintechs in Canada receiving $1.7bn+ from venture capital investment in the past 5 years. 57% of these are based in Toronto.
Finimize Community Hosts Yash and Mitchell put together an all-star panel of Toronto fintechs: WealthSimple, Planswell, Ratehub and Borrowell.

How to invest in a low interest rate: Auckland, New Zealand
Record-low interest rates are forcing consumers to look outside of their savings accounts to find attractive returns. Auckland natives Simon, John and Alistair gathered a group of Kiwi Finimizers together to give their thoughts on where these returns may come from.
We provided an alternative view on ‘How to invest in a low interest rate environment’, discussing the financial heart attack of the global financial crisis and the triple bypass surgery that followed in terms of some of the lowest interest rates on record. Finimize host Mariana invited Elvis Lauth, partner of Patrimono, and Marina Mandelli, partner and co-founder of Solar Connection, to explain how to create a parallel between investments and sustainability. They explored how these two concepts are related and how we can invest in line with our values.

Female Financial Dialogue: Boston, USA
The ‘FFD’ is a series of events focused on empowering more female investors to have an open dialogue about finance. Finimize host Auriel Wright curated a session discussing investments, products and wealth management in a “jargon” free workshop at Harvard’s innovation lab in Boston.
